... Read moreOh my goodness, you guys! If you're looking for an incredible spot to spend a #weekend with your #family and #kids, you absolutely have to check out Fontana Municipal Pier. My family and I recently took a trip there, and it was hands down one of the best days we've had in a long time. I just had to share our experience and some tips to make your visit just as wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was just buzzing with happy energy. The pier itself is beautifully maintained, offering panoramic views of the water and surrounding area. My kids, who usually have a short attention span, were immediately captivated. They loved watching the fishermen casting their lines and the little boats bobbing in the distance. It’s such a simple joy, but seeing their faces light up was priceless. One of the best things about Fontana Municipal Pier is how family-friendly it is. There’s plenty of space to stroll, and it's completely safe for little ones to run around (with supervision, of course!). We packed a picnic lunch, which I highly recommend. There are benches along the pier where you can sit and enjoy your meal with an unbeatable view. It felt so much more relaxed than trying to find a restaurant, and the kids loved picnicking by the water. For those wondering what to do there, beyond just soaking in the views, here are a few ideas: Fishing: Even if you don't fish, watching the local anglers can be quite entertaining. If you're feeling adventurous, bring your own gear! Just be sure to check local regulations for licenses. Nature Watching: Keep an eye out for seabirds, and if you're lucky, you might even spot some marine life in the clear waters below. My kids were thrilled to point out different birds. Photography: The pier offers some truly stunning backdrops, especially during sunrise or sunset. We got some amazing family photos that we'll cherish forever. Just Relax! Sometimes, the best activity is simply enjoying the fresh air, the sound of the waves, and each other's company. A few practical tips from my visit: Arrive Early: Especially on a sunny #weekend, the pier can get quite popular. Arriving in the morning means easier parking and a more serene experience before the crowds pick up. Sun Protection: Even on cloudy days, the sun reflects off the water. Don't forget sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses for everyone. Snacks & Water: While there might be vendors nearby, having your own stash of snacks and drinks is always a good idea, especially with hungry kids. Comfortable Shoes: You'll be doing a fair bit of walking, so comfy footwear is a must. Our day at Fontana Municipal Pier was truly a day to remember. It’s an easy, affordable, and incredibly rewarding way to spend quality time with your family. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you're in the area and looking for a fantastic family outing, this pier definitely gets my stamp of approval!
