Ice Osmanthus Latte 🌼☕️

Continuing loving my Staresso Plus Portable Espresso Machine. Added a closed up of the espresso pumping out of this little toy! 😎

This morning I made a cup of ice osmanthus latte which I adore! This helps to wake me up and serve as my delicious morning treat 🤩

Coffee recipe:

- 10 grams of osmanthus syrup

- double shot of espresso (I used to make this drink with instant coffee as well! Taste amazing either way!)

- 1 cup of whole milk (or any type of milk you desired)

... Read moreBeyond just a pretty flower, osmanthus offers a truly unique flavor profile that elevates your coffee experience. If you've ever wondered what an osmanthus latte tastes like, imagine a delicate, floral sweetness with hints of apricot and peach, perfectly balancing the rich notes of espresso. It's not just another flavored syrup; it's an aromatic journey in a cup that feels both exotic and comforting. My recipe is super simple, but here are some extra tips I've learned along the way to make your iced osmanthus latte truly shine. For the espresso, getting that perfect double shot is key for a strong, robust base. I absolutely love watching my Staresso machine pump out that rich, dark liquid – sometimes I even try to capture it in 60FPS to relive the moment! It’s such a satisfying sight. If you don't have an espresso machine, don't fret. As I mentioned, even instant coffee works surprisingly well; just make sure it's a good quality one that you enjoy the taste of. You can dissolve it in a small amount of hot water to create a concentrated coffee base. Regarding the osmanthus syrup, quality makes a huge difference. Look for one that's made with real osmanthus flowers for the most authentic and natural taste. Some cheaper syrups can taste artificial, which can really affect the overall enjoyment of your latte. Adjust the 10 grams to your personal sweetness preference – I sometimes add a little more if I'm feeling extra indulgent! And for milk, while whole milk gives a creamy richness that I adore, oat milk or almond milk are fantastic dairy-free alternatives that complement the floral notes beautifully. They add their own subtle nuances to the drink. The beauty of the iced osmanthus latte lies in its refreshing yet comforting nature. It's not overly sweet, allowing the distinct osmanthus flavor to truly come through. The coolness of the ice melts slightly, mellowing the intensity and making it incredibly smooth and easy to drink. It’s my perfect morning pick-me-up, but honestly, it’s a delightful treat any time of day when you need a little moment of peace and a unique flavor experience. It’s a wonderful way to introduce a bit of luxury into your daily routine. You might also see variations like an osmanthus cold brew or an osmanthus tea latte. For a cold brew version, you could simply add osmanthus syrup to your favorite cold brew concentrate and top with milk. It offers a smoother, less acidic coffee base that lets the floral notes sing even more. An osmanthus tea latte, often made with oolong or green tea, provides a completely different, lighter experience where the tea's natural flavors intertwine delicately with the osmanthus. While my heart is with the espresso version, these options show just how versatile osmanthus can be in beverages! Making it at home not only saves money but also allows you to customize it exactly to your liking. Plus, there's something so satisfying about crafting your own delicious drink from scratch. It's a little daily ritual that brings joy and a moment of calm. Give it a try, and let me know if it becomes your new favorite too!
