What I eat in a day of calorie deficit😍😋🥗🍓🍳🍚
Hohoho—new year, new habits, and a whole new me! 😆 I’ve been diving headfirst into a healthier lifestyle this year, and let me tell you, this girlie is on a mission! 🙂↕️ Since I’m working on shedding some extra fluff, I’ve been following a calorie deficit routine—but in a way that still feels nourishing, colorful, and, most importantly, sustainable.
Here’s a peek into a day in my calorie deficit life:
🥪 Breakfast: Avocado Toast + Sunny Side Up + Mini Bell Peppers
A vibrant, nutrient-packed breakfast to kick off the day! I’ve been obsessed with the Super Bread from Trader Joe’s—it’s packed with goodness and makes the perfect base for creamy avocado and a sunny side up. Add some crunchy mini bell peppers and a glass of lemon water for that Vitamin C boost, and BAM—morning energy unlocked.
🥣 Lunch: Overnight Oats
My go-to midday fuel: creamy overnight oats with Greek yogurt, a sprinkle of oat granola for a lil’ crunch and sweetness, and topped with juicy strawberries. It’s loaded with all the macros I need to power through the afternoon. (PSA: I’ve shared the full breakdown in a previous post if you wanna peek!)
🍲 Dinner: A Cozy Home-Cooked Chinese Meal by Mama
Dinner was pure comfort: stir-fried eggs with spinach, fragrant morel mushrooms stuffed with shrimp and pork paste, fluffy white rice, and a handful of sweet green grapes on the side. Honestly, nothing beats mama’s cooking—nutritious, heartwarming, and soul-satisfying.
Surprisingly, it was a no-snack day—but that’s not always the case! Even on a calorie deficit, I never deprive myself. If I want something, I eat it—just with a little mindfulness and portion control. And if I go over my target? No biggie. A walk or a bit of movement always helps. 🚶♀️💃
This isn’t just a “diet”—it’s the foundation of a lifestyle I want to carry with me for the long haul. It’s about balance, sustainability, and loving myself through the journey. 💪

Incorporating a calorie deficit into your routine can be both enjoyable and sustainable. Breakfast options like avocado toast provide healthy fats and protein, while meals like overnight oats keep energy levels up during the day. Preparation is key; batch cooking meals, such as stir-fried dishes, can save time and ensure a nutritious intake. Consider integrating various elements that align with your taste buds for more enjoyment—colorful fruits and veggies can not just enhance the dish visually but also increase the nutritional value. For those treating their tastebuds, consider minimal indulgence with portion control. This approach can make your calorie deficit journey feel less restrictive. Balancing your diet with treats can maintain motivation and adherence to your goals. Remember, health is a journey; even small shifts can lead to lasting impacts!
