Hongdae Cat Cafe!! ✨🐈 Cats & Nintendo Switches!! 😽

I recently went on a fun little girls trip to Seoul and we took it super chill so we got to explore lots of small cafes and such. (look out for more reviews from me!!)
We found this cat cafe in Hongdae (in a scary looking black castle icl but along the Main Street) called CAT CAFE MAO and it was truly a fantastic find!! There were so many different types of cats including ragdolls, Siamese and munchkin cats!! 😺 I loved that the cats were quite playful as well and the Siamese esp. loved playing with the card lanyard hehe!!
We decided to test out the theory that cats would come when you ignore them and it’s lowkey true?? We got approached by many different cats while we were frantically trying to win the Overcooked levels HAHA!! Curious cats sniffing us and laying beside us while we were panicking, truly a fun experience 😝
There were many different Nintendo stations as well so you should likely be able to have one to yourself. The layout is such that there is an upper floor and a lower floor, both have a lovely array of cats and switches. The switches are also already added to the price.
Prices are calculated by how much time you spend there, it was 16000 won ($14.24 SGD) for 3 hours!!! Sooo worth and had such a fun time defeating the overcooked levels!!! We were only supposed to be there for two hours but we completely lost track of time 🤣🤣 so do set an alarm if you have to rush elsewhere!!
Overall I would definitely go back again if I could 🥹 10/10 experience 😌

With around five Switch stations upstairs and four downstairs, there’s usually enough consoles available so you rarely have to wait. Time flies when you’re there! Even though the pricing is based on your stay duration (16000 won for 3 hours), it feels totally worth it given the atmosphere and entertainment. A useful tip is to set an alarm if you have other plans nearby since I completely lost track of time enjoying the company of the cats and my friends. Also, using Naver Maps to locate Cat Cafe Mao is highly recommended as it helps navigate the less obvious entrance inside what looks like a black castle on the main street. Whether you're a cat lover, a gamer, or just someone wanting a unique Seoul cafe experience, this place delivers on all fronts. I’m definitely planning to return on my next trip!
