Explosives, if you have them, are also a fantastic way to create pressure and break their defenses. Grenades or a rocket launcher can force them to move or take damage. Another trick I've found useful is trying to 'take their wall'—hitting it with your pickaxe or weapon and then quickly trying to edit it as your own. If you can get control of their wall, you can make an edit play and surprise them. Gaining high ground is also crucial; it gives you a better angle to shoot down on their builds and apply pressure.
