My second dog after 10 years thoughts 🌸✨
I’ve had my schnauzer girly for 10 years, but after a few years you start to notice how much they slow down 💔❤️🩹 I decided to bring her a friend to lift her up. My Mocha girl will always be the princess. Excited to see the many memories they will create together ❤️
Was it a tough decision? YES
Is it worth it? YES
✨ Pros: Always entertained, lifetime company, new routine, motivation to be outside, JOY!!
👀 Cons: (temporary)potty training, doubling dog food, vet visits, grooms.
If you’re hesitant about getting a friend for your furry baby don’t be! I would say be mindful of the time and patience you will need to potty train and training overall. Some sleepless nights at the beginning while the puppy gets adjusted. Keep in mind the dog will now be part of your family forever. It will be worth it ❤️
Bringing home a second dog can be an enriching experience for both your initial pet and the new addition. Over the years, many dog owners find their older dogs slow down and could benefit from a companion to revive their energy and enthusiasm. New puppies not only provide company and entertainment but also present a unique set of challenges. From the excitement of potty training to adjusting to new routines, patience is key. It's crucial to establish a balanced approach to training and integrate the puppy seamlessly into your family dynamic. This includes setting boundaries for both the older dog and the newcomer, encouraging positive interactions, and maintaining regular vet visits to monitor their health. Additionally, creating a safe space for each dog can help reduce stress during the adjustment period. Remember, the bond they form can bring immense joy to your household, fostering a playful and loving environment. The commitment to welcoming a second furry friend is substantial, and with the right preparations and mindset, it can lead to countless cherished memories together.
