Having a Labradoodle has been one of the best experiences. They are incredibly loving, loyal, and always want to be by your side. Mine is affectionate, playful, and full of personality, making every day more fun.
She is great with my baby and very friendly to all. One thing to keep in mind is that they have lots of energy and need regular exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent grooming. If you’re willing to invest the time, you’ll be rewarded with a devoted, happy companion.
Overall, I highly recommend a Labradoodle to anyone looking for a smart, affectionate, and fun-loving dog. They truly become part of the family and bring so much joy into your home🤍
... Read moreHaving owned a Labradoodle, I can personally attest to their incredible personality traits and unique care requirements. Labradoodles are a wonderful blend of intelligence and affection, making them truly stand out among family dogs. One thing I've learned is that their energy levels are quite high—they thrive on daily physical exercise ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, including outdoor adventures which keep them both mentally and physically stimulated. Without sufficient activity, they can become restless or even develop destructive behaviors.
Grooming is definitely a significant commitment with Labradoodles since their curly fur tends to mat easily if not brushed regularly, ideally 2 to 3 times a week. I found investing in a high-quality fur brush essential to maintaining their coat and preventing costly grooming appointments—which can run over $100. Despite being low to non-shedding, which is perfect for allergy sufferers, their dense coats do require consistent care to look their best.
Another notable aspect is their emotional intelligence—they quickly pick up on your moods and can be extremely clingy and protective, especially around babies and children. This makes them excellent family companions but also means they need plenty of attention and reassurance to feel secure and happy.
In terms of training, Labradoodles’ intelligence makes them quick learners. They respond well to positive reinforcement and enjoy engaging toys that challenge their curiosity and goofy, happy personalities. Providing them with a variety of toys keeps them entertained and helps manage their energy.
Overall, if you are prepared for the time and effort that this breed demands, you will be rewarded with a truly loyal and loving companion who brings immense joy and laughter into your home. They are not just pets; they quickly become family members who enrich everyday life with their affectionate nature and vibrant spirit.
So "Labradoodles" aren't always "Hypoallergenic" 1. because no dog is truly "Hypoallergenic" 2. you can't pick and choose what genetics a mutt gets. I work at 3 dog training facilities as an assistant dog trainer, 3 shelters as a volunteer dog trainer, and I work in grooming so I'm around these mutts all the freaking time, and let me tell you they tend to have the most behavioral and/or health issues I see in dogs. It's so unfortunate that so many people are uneducated and continue to support backyard breeders/unethical breeders/irresponsible pet owners. Ethical breeders breed for preservation of a SPECIFIC breed, OFA-CHIC health testing, and titling in conformation (dog shows) or sports/work. There are so many well-bred purebred alternatives to consider a Poodle mix such as Portuguese Water Dog, Barbet, Lagotto, Barbado da Terceira, bedlington terrier, Spanish water dog, poodle, Schapendoes, Mudi, Curly Coated Retriever, Airdale Terrier, Otter Hound, Coton de Tulear, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, Portuguese Sheep dog, Slavokian Wirehaired Pointer, Pumi, and etc. To ONLY ethical way to get a Poodle mix is rescuing.
Sooo precious 🩷🐶
