Making pizza biscuit calzones at home is a fantastic way to enjoy a delicious, customizable snack with minimal effort. Using refrigerated biscuit dough significantly cuts down on prep time, allowing you to whip up these calzones in under 30 minutes. I like to flatten the biscuit dough to about 4 or 5 inches to get the perfect balance of dough to filling without making it too thin, which can cause leaks. For the filling, pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, and pepperoni work perfectly, but you can easily experiment with other toppings like cooked sausage, mushrooms, or even veggies like bell peppers and olives for a different twist. One tip I’ve learned is to leave some space at the edges when adding sauce and cheese to avoid spillage during baking. The garlic butter with Italian seasoning brushed on top not only adds flavor but also helps achieve that beautiful golden crust, making the calzone extra appetizing. Baking at 375°F for 12 to 18 minutes is ideal; keep an eye on the color of the crust to avoid overbaking. Once out of the oven, it’s important to let these calzones cool slightly because the filling is very hot and can burn your mouth. These calzones are great for a quick weeknight dinner or as a party appetizer. I found that using parchment paper and a light coating of cooking spray on the baking pan prevents sticking and makes cleanup easier. This recipe is a hit with both kids and adults and perfect for pairing with a simple side salad or dipping sauces like ranch or a spicy marinara. Overall, making Pizza Biscuit Calzones at home is not only easy but gives you endless opportunities to personalize your snack or meal with your favorite pizza flavors.
