Cookie Fries
DIRECTIONS
🔥Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and mist the baking sheet with cooking spray.
Lay some flour on a flat surface and place the cookie dough between two large sheets of parchment paper.
Sprinkle with more flour so it dosent stick. Use a rolling pin to roll it into a neat rectangle about ¼-inch thick. Cut the edges of your flattened cookie dough to create straight edges fries.
Use a sharp knife, pizza cutter, or crinkle cutter to slice it into uniform fry-shaped strips.
Once on the baking sheet, freeze for at least 30 to 45 minutes until very firm. Do not skip this, or the dough will melt into a single giant cookie sheet.
🔥Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, but the centers still look slightly soft.
Let them cool completely on the pan to set their structure before moving them. Dip in Nutella or melted chocolate and Munch!
If you're looking for a fun twist on classic cookies, cookie fries are definitely worth trying. From my experience, the key to getting that perfect crisp outside with a soft, chewy center lies in the freezing step before baking. It might be tempting to skip it, but freezing the cut dough strips for at least 30-45 minutes prevents them from merging into one giant cookie sheet and helps maintain their fry shape. I usually find that rolling the dough between parchment paper and dusting with flour on both sides makes rolling out easier and prevents sticking. Using a pizza cutter to slice the dough offers uniform pieces, which means even baking. Baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10-12 minutes achieves a golden edge without overbaking the centers. Once baked, let the cookie fries cool completely on the pan — this helps them firm up and makes handling easier. Dipping them in Nutella or melted chocolate adds a decadent finishing touch, but you can also experiment with caramel sauce, peanut butter, or even a sprinkle of sea salt for contrast. Making cookie fries is a delightful way to enjoy cookies in a new form. They’re perfect for sharing at parties or as an indulgent snack. Plus, they’re visually fun and a great conversation starter. If you’re into baking hacks, try experimenting with different cookie dough flavors like sugar cookie, snickerdoodle, or even peanut butter dough to customize your fries. Enjoy your baking adventure!
