Lost in another century
I thought I was going to see a replica of the Parthenon.
Instead, I found myself standing beneath a symbol of humanity’s resilience.
Those massive pillars weren’t just holding up stone. They represented generations of vision, perseverance, loss, rebuilding, and the quiet determination to leave something meaningful behind. Civilizations have risen and fallen. Wars have come and gone. Empires have disappeared.
Yet here we are…
Still looking up.
Still gathering beneath them.
Still searching for meaning in something greater than ourselves.
Standing there, I felt wonderfully insignificant.
Not because my life didn’t matter.
But because, for a moment, my worries weren’t the center of the universe anymore.
The emails.
The deadlines.
The uncertainty.
The weight I’d been carrying.
It all became quieter.
The pillars didn’t solve anything.
They simply reminded me that strength isn’t measured by how much weight we carry alone. Sometimes strength is trusting that difficult seasons eventually become chapters in a story much bigger than ourselves.
Maybe that’s why I travel.
Not to escape my life.
To remember how small I am in the best possible way… and how beautiful it is to be part of something that stretches far beyond my own lifetime.
🏛️ EG Pillar: Depth
Depth is allowing experiences to shape you instead of simply entertaining you. It’s standing in places that have witnessed centuries and letting them remind you that your life has meaning, your struggles are temporary, and your story is connected to something far greater than yourself. Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t perspective you find… it’s perspective that finds you.
Savor. Rise. Go Beyond.
With gratitude,
