Book Review: Stay Away from Him 10/10

2025/8/27 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so I just had to share my thoughts on 'Stay Away From Him' by Andrew Deyong because, seriously, this book has left me utterly speechless! From the moment I picked up that striking dark cover with its green text and golden doorknob imagery, I knew I was in for something special. It just screamed 'psychological thriller,' and let me tell you, it delivered in spades. Like many of you, I'm always on the hunt for that next read that will completely consume me, and this one did exactly that. The original review only scratched the surface when it said it had me 'twisted in ways I did not see coming.' Honestly, I'm still reeling! The plot twists weren't just unexpected; they were expertly woven into the narrative, making me question everything I thought I knew right up until the very last page. It’s the kind of book where you think you've figured it out, only for Deyong to pull the rug out from under you, leaving you gasping. Now, without giving away any spoilers, the central question from the back cover – "IS SHE FALLING FOR A KILLER?" – is just the tip of the iceberg of the tension this story builds. You find yourself constantly trying to decipher motives, second-guessing characters, and feeling that chilling sense of unease. The pacing is absolutely brilliant; it starts strong and just maintains that gripping momentum, making it impossible to put down. I literally lost sleep because I just had to know what happened next. What I particularly loved about 'Stay Away From Him' was how deeply I got invested in the protagonist's journey and her increasingly complex predicament. Andrew Deyong has a knack for crafting characters that feel incredibly real, even when they're caught in the most unsettling circumstances. Their internal struggles felt palpable, which only amplified the suspense and added so much depth to the already intricate plot. If you’re into thrillers that delve into the human psyche and explore the darker sides of relationships, this is definitely one to add to your list. It reminded me of some of my favorite domestic thrillers, but with its own unique, chilling flavor. I rated this book a solid 10/10, and I stand by it. It’s not just a good read; it's an immersive experience that stays with you long after you've turned the final page. If you've been searching for a psychological thriller that will genuinely keep you on the edge of your seat, challenge your perceptions, and surprise you with every turn, then you absolutely need to pick up 'Stay Away From Him' by Andrew Deyong. Trust me, you won't regret it. But be warned: once you start, you won't be able to stop!
