... Read moreOkay, so I literally just tried Paper Cake Shop for the first time, and I'm already planning my next visit! Seriously, if you're ever in Seattle and craving something sweet, especially a truly unique layered cake, you HAVE to check this place out. It's quickly become my new favorite bakery in Seattle!
Walking up to the shop in Wallingford, the exterior itself is so inviting – charming brick and wood paneling, with their iconic white sign and green text. Inside, the display cases are a feast for the eyes. They have an amazing selection that makes deciding what to get almost impossible! I was immediately drawn to the beautifully crafted layered cake slices, each one looking like a work of art.
Their menu is fantastic, catering to so many different tastes. I spotted so many intriguing flavors in the display case. For instance, they had 'Spring Forward,' which is a matcha masterpiece, and 'Snack Isle,' a really rich chocolate option. There was also a vibrant 'POG' (passion fruit, orange, guava) and a classic-sounding 'Red Velvet' made with coco beet. Seriously, the descriptions of the ingredients alone made my mouth water!
I ended up bringing home a pink box filled with four different slices to share with my roomies. Among them were the green (matcha, my absolute favorite!), two purple, and one yellow cake. The green matcha one was definitely the crowd-pleaser for us. It had such a delicate flavor and perfect texture. I also saw 'Ube Mocha,' a delicious combination of chocolate with ube buttercream, and something called 'Keel Bill' with lemon, raspberry, and Froot Loops – I mean, how fun is that?! The Keel Bill is absolutely on my list for next time, it sounds so playful and unique.
If you're searching for a 'bakery near me' in Seattle, or specifically for 'layered bake shop' or 'dessert near me,' Paper Cake Shop is truly a standout. Their cakes aren't just pretty; they taste incredible and offer such a creative twist on classic flavors. It’s definitely a strong contender for 'Seattle's best cake.' I can't wait to go back and try more from their awesome menu, especially that Keel Bill. You won't regret stopping by for a sweet treat!
