Hey planner pals! So, you've snagged that amazing digital planner (maybe even the free one I linked!) but now you're staring at a .zip file on your iPad, wondering, 'How on earth do I open this?!' Trust me, I've been there! It can feel a bit tricky at first, especially if you're new to digital planning. But don't worry, unzipping files on your iPad for your new UNDATED-DIGITAL-PLANNER is actually super straightforward once you know the steps. Most digital products, like planners and sticker books (STICKER BOOK), come compressed in a .zip file to keep everything neat and tidy. Your iPad has a built-in way to handle these, so you usually don't need any extra apps! Here’s my go-to method using the native Files app: Download Your .zip File: First, make sure you've successfully downloaded your digital planner file, like undated-digital-planner.zip. It usually goes into your 'Downloads' folder within the Files app, or sometimes directly to 'iCloud Drive' if that's your default save location. You can always use the 'Search' function in the Files app if you're having trouble locating it (try searching for 'UNDATED' or 'planner'). Locate in the Files App: Open the 'Files' app on your iPad. Navigate to where you saved your .zip file. You might see it under 'On My iPad', 'iCloud Drive', or a specific folder you created. Once you find the UNDATED-DIGITAL-PLANNER.zip file, just give it a simple tap! Unzip Automatically: That's it! Your iPad is smart enough to automatically create a new folder with the same name as the .zip file, containing all your planner goodies (usually a PDF of the planner and maybe some separate stickers or instructions). It's like magic! If you see an 'Unsupported file type' message when trying to open the .zip directly in a planner app, that's your cue to go to the Files app first. Import to Your Planning App (e.g., Notability): Now that your planner is unzipped, you'll find the main PDF file. This is what you want to open in your favorite planning app. Method A (From Files App): Tap and hold on the PDF file in the Files app. A menu will pop up. Choose 'Share'. From the share sheet, look for your planning app (like 'Notability'). You might see options like 'Share to Notability' or 'Add to New Quick Note' depending on your app setup. Method B (From Planning App): Open your planning app (e.g., Notability). Look for an 'Import' or 'Open' option. You can then navigate through the Files app interface from within Notability to find your unzipped planner PDF. When you 'Import to Notability', you'll usually get options like 'Create new note' or 'Add to existing note'. I always choose 'Create new note' for a fresh planner! Remember, sometimes the files might be called something slightly different, like 0x11.00..._US.zip, but the process remains the same. Once it's in your app, you can start customizing your Digital Planner and checking off items on your Weekly Self-Care Checklist! Don't let a little .zip file stand between you and your perfectly organized digital life!
