The countdown to my due date and starting maternity leave feels so incredibly real now. It's a mix of overwhelming excitement, a little bit of nervousness, and a whole lot of love swelling up inside me as I prepare for delivery. It feels surreal to be here, especially when I look back at the beginning of this journey. I remember those early days around 6 weeks pregnant when morning sickness was my constant companion. For anyone currently navigating that challenging phase, I totally understand! My go-to tips were always small, frequent meals – bland crackers, ginger tea, and keeping hydrated were lifesavers. Sometimes just getting a few sips of sparkling water down was a win. And truly, don't be afraid to rest whenever you can; that first trimester fatigue is no joke! It feels like a lifetime ago, and now I'm preparing for the final sprint. These last 6 weeks are all about nesting and final preparations. My partner and I have been busy putting the finishing touches on the nursery, washing all the tiny clothes, and making sure the hospital bag is packed and ready. It’s not just about the physical preparations, though. Emotionally, a rainbow pregnancy after loss comes with its own unique set of feelings. There's immense joy and hope, but also moments of anxiety and careful optimism. Each kick, each doctor's appointment, brings a wave of reassurance, but the shadow of past experiences can linger. I find comfort in connecting with other moms who've been through similar journeys; knowing you're not alone makes a huge difference. I’m also trying to savor these last few weeks of pregnancy. Long baths, gentle walks, and just taking time to feel those amazing baby movements. It's a precious time before life completely changes, and I want to soak up every moment. My body definitely feels the pregnancy more intensely now, but the thought of holding my baby soon keeps me going. The anticipation for delivery is building, and I’m focusing on positive affirmations and learning about birth options to feel as prepared as possible. Wish me luck as I head into these final weeks! I can’t wait to share my next update once our little miracle is finally here. What are your must-do's in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy?
