It's so much fun sharing my latest nail sets with you all, and as a teen nail tech, I often get asked about my journey and what it's really like to be a young professional in the beauty industry. If you're currently a teen nail tech, or dreaming of becoming one, let me tell you, it's an incredibly rewarding path! Starting out can feel a bit overwhelming, but my biggest tip is to just dive in and practice, practice, practice! I began by working on practice hands, trying out everything from classic white French tips to intricate floral designs. Don't be afraid to experiment with different nail shapes like long almond or square-shaped artificial nails. You'll learn so much just by doing and getting your hands-on experience. It’s all about building that muscle memory and understanding how different products work. Finding your unique artistic style and constantly seeking inspiration is key. I spend hours scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram for the latest trends and creative ideas. Sometimes, clients come in with their own visions, which pushes me to try new things – like those detailed 3D designs with colorful flowers, whimsical butterflies, or even cute little ladybugs and cherries! Lately, I’ve been absolutely loving experimenting with 'cat eye polish' for a really cool, magnetic effect, and of course, the cheetah print French tips are always a huge hit. Don't shy away from trying different embellishments either. Small 3D white bows, elegant crosses with gems, or even just a touch of sparkling purple glitter can really elevate a set and make it unique. It can definitely be a juggle balancing school, friends, and the demands of being a nail tech, but when you're truly passionate, you find a way to make it all work. Every set I create, whether it's a simple nude base with a delicate design or a bold tiger print, is a step in my continuous learning process. The absolute best part for me is seeing the happy smiles on my clients' faces when they see their finished nails. It's so fulfilling to help them express their personality and style through their beautifully manicured hands.
