diaper caddy essentials.. real talk
I’m sure we have all seen the videos of what you need in your diaper caddy. I did before I gave birth, but I realized that a lot of those videos are not marketed to middle or lower class. So here are some alternatives and what we use, REALISTICALLY.
diapers- use what brand works for your baby. period.
wipes- huggies natural care 560 ($16.97 at walmart) is our go-to! best for not pulling multiple wipes (except when super low) & best at cleaning bottoms. An alternative would be the parent’s choice sensitive fragrance-free wipes 900 ($17.96 at walmart). A dollar more than huggies but way more wipes.
diaper cream applicator- I bought ours off of temu! Yes. I said Temu. It was like $2 or $3. It works amazingly.
saline spray- we use the little rascals saline spray ($4.97). you can also use the equate brand saline spray/drops for babies ($2.82) as an alternative.
gas drops- Mylicon is highly rated and honestly is better than other brands we have tried. Use what works best for your baby. ($5.98)
diaper rash cream- we use desitin maximum strength diaper rash cream 4 oz($6.98). you can use baby aquaphor instead and aquaphor takes care of diaper rash cream, dry skin, and eczema ($12.98). for price friendly, use the parents choice diaper rash ointment 4 oz($1.98).
snot sucker- if you can use the bulb to suck it out, congratulations I cannot. We use the grownsy nasal aspirator ($33). For price friendly, you could use the fridamom snot sucker ($10.73).
thermometer- we bought ours off of amazon, it was intended for guest but we primarily use it for baby. you can use a rectal thermometer, arm pit thermometer, ear thermometer or face thermometer. which ever works for you and your baby. i found that a wiggling baby is hard to get a temp on so we use the forehead thermometer .
