Joining an OSU sorority has been one of the most incredible decisions I’ve made in college. It’s not just about parties or stereotypes; it’s about finding your community, your support system, and building lifelong friendships. The recruitment process, often called 'rush,' can seem a little overwhelming from the outside, but it’s actually a really structured way to meet so many amazing women and learn about each chapter. I remember preparing my outfits, practicing my small talk, and feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. Each round, you visit different houses, learning about their philanthropy, values, and traditions. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but it’s so worth it. My best advice is to be authentic and ask genuine questions. Don't try to be someone you're not; the right chapter will love you for who you truly are. Then comes Bid Day – truly one of the most memorable days of my life! After all the anticipation, getting that 'GOLDEN TICKET' in my envelope was pure euphoria. I still remember the moment I ran home to my new sisters, seeing all the excited faces and the 'THANK YOU FOR COMING' banner. It felt like winning the lottery! The energy was infectious, with everyone holding their flame-shaped signs and celebrating together. It’s such a powerful feeling to know you’ve found your place. Life in a sorority at OSU is so much more than just Bid Day excitement. It truly is like getting a family away from home. I've found incredible sisterhood, whether we're posing for pictures in our matching pink and white blazers, studying together in the library, or just hanging out on the grass, sharing laughs. We have so many fun events, from casual get-togethers to more formal occasions. I’ve loved our date parties, like the one where we danced under disco balls at a 'Pi Phi' event, and our special bonding activities. Even our 'theta mom's day 2023' event, where we got to celebrate with our families, really highlighted how inclusive and supportive our community is. These experiences create memories that I’ll cherish forever. If you’re considering going through recruitment at Ohio State, I wholeheartedly encourage you to do it! It might seem daunting, but it opens up a world of opportunities for leadership, philanthropy, and personal growth. You’ll meet women from all walks of life, and you’ll create bonds that extend far beyond your college years. Don’t listen to all the rumors; experience it for yourself. Trust me, finding your sorority family at OSU is an experience you won't regret!
