Anyone from Mass?!?
The Big E, officially known as The Eastern States Exposition, is truly a highlight of the year for anyone in New England! Every time I visit, it's always a FUN time at this incredible FAIR. From the moment you step through the gates, the air is buzzing with excitement, the smell of delicious food, and the sounds of laughter and live music. One of the biggest draws, for me at least, is definitely the FOOD. Oh, the food! If you have to get anything, let me tell you, there are so many iconic treats that make the Big E a culinary adventure. While I can't pinpoint just one "must-get" item for everyone because tastes vary, my personal recommendation is always to seek out the famous Big E Cream Puffs. They are legendary for a reason – light, airy, and filled with the most delightful cream. But don't stop there! You'll find everything from classic fair fare like fried dough, juicy corn dogs, and giant turkey legs to more unique offerings from the various state buildings. Each state house (like the Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Vermont buildings) offers specialties from their respective states, so you can literally eat your way through New England without leaving the fairgrounds. Seriously, go explore and find YOUR "get this plssss" moment! Beyond the incredible eats, the Big E is PACKED with FUN! My last visit was filled with so many memorable moments. We spent hours exploring the various agricultural exhibits, admiring the prize-winning livestock, and learning about farming. The Craft Common is another favorite, showcasing talented artisans and unique handmade goods – perfect for finding a special souvenir. And of course, no fair experience is complete without some thrilling rides! Whether you're into the dizzying heights of the Ferris wheel or the classic bumper cars, there's something for every adrenaline level. For first-timers or seasoned fairgoers, here are a few tips to make your BIG E experience even better: Arrive Early: Especially on weekends, the fair gets crowded. Getting there right when it opens gives you a head start on parking and popular attractions. Wear Comfy Shoes: You'll be doing a lot of walking, so comfortable footwear is a must. Hydrate: With all the walking and excitement, it's easy to forget to drink enough water. Plan Ahead: Check the schedule for daily parades, concerts, and special events you don't want to miss. Budget for Food: It's easy to get carried away with all the tempting options, so set a food budget! The Big E isn't just a fair; it's an annual tradition that brings people together for pure joy. It's truly an unforgettable experience for families, friends, or even a solo adventure. Can't wait to go back next year!
