and it just started
Many people find themselves wondering, "Which year destroyed my mental health the most?" From personal experience, it can be helpful to pinpoint periods of stress, trauma, or upheaval in our lives to better understand their impact on our mental well-being. For me, recognizing the year that challenged my mental health the most allowed me to acknowledge the struggles I faced and validate my feelings. Sometimes, these difficult times coincide with external events like a global pandemic, loss of a loved one, or other life changes. Once identified, reflecting on what factors contributed to that difficult year can open the door to healing. Did isolation, uncertainty, or overwhelming responsibilities play a role? Sharing these experiences with trusted friends or mental health professionals can be incredibly therapeutic. Additionally, journaling about the emotions and events from that year has been a valuable practice for many. It encourages self-awareness and helps track progress over time. Remember, everyone’s journey is unique, and while one year might have been the hardest for some, others may have different experiences. The key is to honor your own story and seek support when needed. Through reflection, self-care, and connection, it is possible to move forward stronger and more resilient.
