Hey everyone! I wanted to dive a little deeper into why certain things in my shower routine are absolute game-changers, especially for us with POTS. Showering can be a huge energy drain and even a bit scary sometimes, right? First, let's talk about those essential safety items. My foldable shower stool isn't just for comfort; it's a lifesaver for preventing presyncope and dizziness. Standing for long periods in a hot, steamy environment can really trigger POTS symptoms. Sitting down reduces the demand on my circulatory system, making the whole process much safer and less exhausting. Paired with a non-slip shower mat, I feel so much more secure, especially when I'm feeling wobbly. If you're struggling with slips, definitely invest in a good quality mat and consider grab bars if your bathroom allows. Now, onto skin care, because "shower skin pots syndrome" is a real thing we need to address! Many of us with POTS experience dryness, uneven skin texture, or even temperature sensitivity. That's why my product choices are intentional. While I love my citrus-scented sugar scrub for exfoliation and a mood boost, I don't use it every day. Over-exfoliation can irritate sensitive skin. On days I need a gentle but effective cleanse, I often reach for something like the Cerave SA Body Wash. It's fantastic for tackling rough and bumpy skin without stripping it, and it's often scent-free, which is great if you're sensitive to fragrances. I alternate it with a more refreshing body wash when I need a pick-me-up. For a proper "shower routine order," I usually start with washing my hair if I'm doing it that day, then move to body exfoliation (if it's a scrub day), followed by body wash. I always rinse thoroughly to avoid residue. After rinsing, I try to turn the water to lukewarm or even cool for the last minute or so. This helps to close pores and can really help with vasoconstriction, which is super beneficial for POTS symptoms as it can help prevent blood pooling. Post-shower hydration is non-negotiable for managing "shower skin pots syndrome." My daily moisturizing oil mist and perfume aren't just for smelling good; they lock in moisture while my skin is still a little damp. I also make sure to apply my leave-in conditioner and hair spray while my hair is damp to maximize absorption and manageability. Finally, remember that your "shower routine for girls" doesn't have to be picture-perfect. As shared in the article, it doesn't need to be aesthetically pleasing. It's about what works for your body, your energy levels, and your symptoms. Listen to your body, take breaks if you need to, and celebrate every small victory, like simply being able to complete a shower. Stay safe and take care!

i love this. thank you for showing a realistic post, and i’m happy you’ve found things that work for you and your pots!
