I like myself when I was a child**

... Read moreReflecting on the childhood version of ourselves often brings a mix of nostalgia and revelation. Many people find that the pure joy and authentic self-love they experienced as children tend to fade under the pressures of adult life. By intentionally reconnecting with the qualities we admired in our younger selves — such as curiosity, creativity, and unconditional self-acceptance — we can reignite a sense of inner peace and confidence. From personal experience, I found that cherishing my childhood memories and accepting who I was at that young age helped me confront my adult insecurities. Writing down moments when I felt truly happy or proud as a child allowed me to identify what I value most about myself. This practice made it easier to extend kindness and patience to my current self, especially during challenging times. Moreover, embracing childhood self-love fosters resilience. It serves as a reminder that despite setbacks, the core of who we are is worthy and lovable. Activities like journaling, revisiting childhood hobbies, or simply allowing oneself to play again can rekindle that joyful spirit. Incorporating these reflections into daily life can enhance mental well-being and provide a more compassionate outlook. It’s not just about remembering the past but integrating those positive feelings into present self-perception to nurture a healthier relationship with oneself.

I LIKE MYSELFWHEN I WAS ACHILD
As a child, you don’t even realize you’re being hurt… you’re too busy just trying to be a kid. Laughing, playing, growing… while silently carrying things you were never meant to understand that early. Some wounds don’t show up until later—but they were there all along. If this is you then

Signs of autism and ADHD I showed as a child 🌸
For years I thought these were just things every kid did, or stuff I’d eventually grow out of. I remember so many different teachers pointing out my walking and telling me to walk heel first. Looking back, a lot of these signs make much more sense through an ADHD and autism lens. Things like

Oldest child appreciation post 💙
I was only 20 when I had my oldest, and in a way, I carry some guilt because his early childhood is vastly different than his sisters. I was in addiction from my teen years till I got pregnant with my second child (I was 29). In a way, he literally grew up with me. I second guess myself as a mother

I think I liked myself better when I was a kid…
Back when life felt lighter. Before the world left its fingerprints on me. Before I learned what heartbreak was, before I carried weight that wasn’t mine to hold. There was an innocence then pure, untouchable, and free. I miss that version of me… but I’m learning to find her again.

What Reparenting My Inner Child Looks Like
I didn’t grow up with emotionally safe adults. No one taught me how to process feelings, set boundaries, or feel secure in myself. So I had to become that for myself. Reparenting has looked like checking in with my emotions instead of suppressing them. It’s saying, “You’re allowed to feel that,”
