switching to LISS movement changed my life

as a former gym girly, in LOVE with the stairmaster and lifting… switching to liss is the best decision i have EVER made

not only was i able to stay consistent & transform my body, but also my health, mind and lifestyle. i used to feel so inflamed, exhausted, bloated and honestly in fight or flight while doing intense hit workouts. but by switching to liss exercises, such as my hot girl walks, pilates (both mat and reformer), hot yoga, barre, etc, my feminine energy started SHINING through. i felt calmer and relaxed overall, become much more lean and slim, and honestly, SO much happier. i was able to include it much more organically into my lifestyle and absolutely fell in love with movement. i crave my morning walks and my weekly pilates class. i feel stronger and healthier with every day and could not recommend it more!

I certainly did, spending hours on the Stairmaster and lifting heavy, always feeling exhausted. But what if I told you there's a gentler, more sustainable path that can lead to a truly toned physique and a happier, more balanced you? Switching to Low-Intensity Steady-State (LISS) movement and incorporating Pilates has been that path for me. LISS isn't about breaking records; it's about moving your body consistently without stressing it out. For me, this looks like long, brisk walks—often dubbed 'hot girl walks'—gentle cycling, swimming, or even a soothing hot yoga session. These aren't just exercises; they're my daily dose of peace and active meditation. I've found that integrating these activities organically into my day makes them enjoyable and something I genuinely crave, rather than a chore. And then there's Pilates – whether it’s mat work at home or on a Pilates reformer in a studio, it’s incredible for building deep core strength, flexibility, and those long, lean muscles without the impact of traditional weightlifting. I used to dread working out, but now, I genuinely look forward to my Pilates classes, feeling excited to move my body. One of the biggest surprises on my journey was how LISS and Pilates impacted my internal health. I used to battle constant bloating and felt perpetually stressed, which I now realize was likely contributing to a stubborn *cortisol belly*. Switching to gentler movement helped these issues disappear almost entirely. When you constantly push your body with high-intensity exercise, your stress hormone (cortisol) levels can remain elevated, leading to fatigue, inflammation, and even making it harder to lose weight. LISS, however, promotes a state of calm, helping your body regulate hormones naturally. This shift made me feel so much more relaxed, feminine, and confident – a feeling I hadn't experienced in years of intense training. It's not just about the workouts; it's about the entire lifestyle. Before, intense training would leave me ravenously hungry, often leading to unhealthy cravings and making it impossible to be *consistent with her diet*. Now, my *appetite is dramatically different*. I find it easier to stay consistent with my diet because my body isn't in a constant state of repair and extreme hunger. This sustained energy and reduced stress have been key. I'm naturally drawn to healthier foods, and the consistency in my movement routine translates into consistency in my eating habits. It’s truly about finding balance rather than constant deprivation or extreme effort. For the first time ever, I feel my body is truly toning and leaning out in a healthy, sustainable way. It's not about being super restrictive, but about honoring my body with movement it loves. This journey has shown me that fitness doesn't have to be a battle; it can be a joyful and integral part of a healthy, happy life. If you're feeling burnt out or stuck in your fitness routine, I highly recommend exploring LISS and Pilates. Listen to your body, find what feels good, and watch how it transforms not just your physique, but your entire well-being.
