✨ Library Sale Haul ✨

Only $8.50 for 9 books! I LOVE when the library hosts “friends of the library” sales! There’s TONS of books, I always score. There wasn’t *as many* books that I wanted this time, but that’s ok! It’s based fully on donations, so sometimes I get 20 books and sometimes I get 5!

I am *so close* to having the complete hardcover “A series of unfortunate events” set! I think I’m down to needing 3! I try to buy at these events, because they’re only $0.50/each! But goodwill is the same, so if I see one there, I scoop it up too!

... Read moreLibrary sales, especially those hosted by the "Friends of the Library" groups, provide a unique treasure trove for avid readers and collectors alike. These sales are funded by generous donations from the community, ensuring a constantly changing and eclectic mix of books every time. It’s this variability—sometimes finding 20 books, other times fewer—that adds excitement to every visit. For anyone working to complete a series, such as the popular hardcover "A Series of Unfortunate Events," these events are invaluable. Pricing items at just around $0.50 each means building a collection doesn't have to break the bank. Fans share the thrill of searching for those last few elusive volumes, often just three or fewer, that complete their set. Besides library sales, thrift stores like Goodwill offer similar opportunities to find rare or otherwise hard-to-get books. Many readers make it a habit to check both venues to maximize their chances of finding specific titles. It’s also a great way to stumble upon new favorites or bestsellers by renowned authors like Jennifer Weiner, Louise Penny, or Ken Follett without paying full retail price. Another advantage of buying donated books is the sustainability factor. Instead of new books being printed, readers get to recycle wonderful stories, reducing waste and promoting literacy in a community-centric way. For those who enjoy sharing their reading journeys, hashtags such as #Lemon8BookClub, #ThriftedBooks, #LibrarySale, #BookHaul, and #ReadingMotivation help connect like-minded readers on social platforms. They provide inspiration, recommendations, and a supportive community for all levels of book lovers. Whether you’re hunting to complete a beloved series or just looking for a budget-friendly way to indulge your reading passion, library sales and thrifted bookstores can be your best-kept secret. Happy hunting and happy reading!

One by One was good, not my favorite but still good! I also have Never Never on my shelf but haven’t read it yet.

I’ve heard of friends of the library sales but I thought it was old books. This selection is awesome!
