pregnancy was hard

i’m a first time mom, but my pregnancy was horrible. high risk. one million doctors appointments. hearing “the baby’s not viable” (spoiler alert he was). constant sleepovers at the hospital.

sweet baby was welcomed into our world at only 25 weeks. my miracle. the coolest dude i’ve ever seen. and as tough as it’s been, i wouldn’t take a single thing back.

seeing his face makes every crappy part of pregnancy so so worth it. i wish that things were better. but having a HEALTHY baby is good enough for me 💗

As a first-time mom navigating this difficult path, it’s important to recognize the invaluable role of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) support for premature babies born as early as 25 weeks. Many moms experience frequent hospital stays and overwhelming doctor appointments, and hearing that the baby might not be viable can be heartbreaking. However, stories of NICU graduates who defy the odds serve as powerful reminders that early birth doesn’t define a child's future. The NICU provides specialized care tailored to fragile preemies, including respiratory support, temperature regulation, and feeding assistance vital for their growth and survival. Staying connected with healthcare teams and fellow parents in the NICU community can offer comfort and practical advice. Emotional resilience during this period is crucial, and seeing your baby’s progress—even the smallest milestones—can transform hardship into gratitude. Sharing your journey through platforms like Lemon8 creates a supportive space where personal experiences with premature birth and high-risk pregnancy raise awareness and encourage others facing similar challenges. It’s natural to wish for a smoother pregnancy, but celebrating the strength and miracle of having a healthy baby afterward empowers mothers everywhere. Remember, every tiny fighter in the NICU is a testament to hope, courage, and the incredible journey of motherhood.

I’m grateful that my pregnancy was easy. BD went through all the sickness. Well at least that what he said. But I didn’t experience any morning sickness. Nothing whatsoever
