Golden Fried Tacos with Fresh Guac

When tacos meet empanadas!

Crispy fried taco pockets with fresh guac on the side.

—Taco Ingredients—

1.5 pounds ground beef

1 large onion diced

1 red bell pepper diced

4 cloves garlic minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

I teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 packet of Sazón

1 package ready to cook flour tortillas (14oz)

Shredded cheese of choice

Oil for frying

—Guacamole Ingredients—

1-2 large avocados

1 Rome tomato diced

1/2 small red onion diced

2 tablespoons chopped fresh Cilantro

1 lime the juice of

1/2 teaspoon salt

Taco Filling:

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until mostly browned.

3. Add the diced onion, red bell pepper and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes, until softened.

4. Add chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cumin, salt, black pepper, and the packet of Sazón.

5. Mix well and continue cooking for 4-5 minutes, until the beef is fully cooked.

6. Remove from heat and let the filling cool before assembling.

Crispy Fried Taco Pockets:

1. Place an uncooked flour tortilla on a clean surface.

2. Sprinkle some cheese on one half of the tortilla, Spoon some of the beef filling on top of the cheese then top with a little more cheese.

3. Fold the tortilla in half like an empanada and press the edges with a fork to seal.

4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the filled tortillas into the hot oil. Fry until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side.

5. Remove and drain briefly on a wire rack or paper towels.

🥑 Guacamole:

1. Mash the avocados in a bowl. Add diced tomato, red onion, and chopped cilantro. Squeeze in the lime juice and season with salt. Mix and adjust seasoning to taste.

2. Serve the crispy taco pockets hot with fresh guacamole on the side for dipping and enjoy!
