There was a point in my life where I was silently dying, and I couldn’t even get someone to answer the phone for me.
So if nobody’s told you lately: keep going.
Go scared.
Go tired.
Go alone if you have to.
Better days are coming.
Stop grieving the people who weren’t there for you and start pouring that energy back into yourself.
Focus on you.
During some of my toughest times, I found that solitude, although initially painful, became a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth. The darkest periods where I felt completely alone challenged me to confront my emotions head-on rather than bury them. It helped me realize that being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely; rather, it can be an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and rebuild your inner strength. Accepting that I might be alone was a turning point. It forced me to stop relying on others for validation and instead focus on my own worth and resilience. I learned practical ways to care for myself emotionally, such as journaling my feelings, practicing mindfulness, and setting daily intentions to foster positivity. This shift in mindset allowed me to gradually release the pain of people who weren’t there for me and reclaim my energy. If you’re going through something similar, remember that pushing through fear and exhaustion—even when you must go alone—can lead to profound healing. Better days don’t just happen; they are created through self-compassion and perseverance. Remember, reaching out for help remains important, but when immediate support isn’t available, turning inward for strength can be life-affirming. This journey also taught me the importance of sharing my experiences to help others feel less isolated. Depression and loneliness carry heavy stigma, but opening up about them can create connections and empower both yourself and others. Engaging with communities around depression awareness can be a great source of encouragement and understanding. Ultimately, focusing on yourself and prioritizing your well-being is not selfish—it’s necessary. You deserve care, kindness, and healing. Keep going, even if scared, tired, or alone, because better days are indeed coming.
