my favorite natural hairstyles
Here are some cute ways I’ve styled my natural hair!
* I do have 4C hair, but all of these styles were after washing, blow drying, and flat ironing my hair*
01. Low Bun
Cute, easy, and self explanatory. Just slick the hair back with a gel of your choice and tie it back with a hair tie! Don’t forget to do your edges if that’s your thing <3
02. 90’s Space Buns
This look was actually inspired by the iconic Natalie Deselle (rest easy beautiful 👼🏾) from the movie B.A.P.S. Just use a comb to establish a middle part and put the 2 sections into ponytails. Use a flat iron or curling iron to give small sections of each ponytail a slight bump. Kept going until you’ve reached your desired volume! (P.S. - If you’re recreating this look from B.A.P.S don’t forget to leave out 2 small sections that hang lower than the rest of the hair!)
03. High Ponytail w/ Bang
Probably my favorite of the favorites. Leave out a few pieces in the back of your hair, as well as a piece in the front by your ear. Separate these pieces from the rest of the hair and create a bang to your desire. Place the rest of the hair into a high ponytail before using a flat iron or curling iron to give the pony more volume! Straighten or curl the bang to your liking and curl the remaining pieces that were left out in the beginning. So cute, so fun, and so easy to do.
04. Fluffy Bob
My momma got my right with this one , lol. Just wash and blow dry your hair before flat ironing your hair and styling to your liking :)
05. Half-Up Space Buns w/ Bang
Runner up for fave of the faves! Part your hair so that a section of desired width is left out in the back. After leaving out some hair for a bang in the front, part the remaining hair down the middle before putting each section into a ponytail. Use a flatiron or curling iron to bump parts of each space bun until your desired volume is achieved. Straighten the back of the hair and the bang before leaving the house looking absolutely STUNNING!
06. Half-Up Pony w/ Bang
Exactly like number 5, except we are only doing 1 ponytail instead of 2. Easier to do, but still just as cute 🥰
07. Silk Scarf
Whenever i’m feeling especially lazy I just brush my hair all the way down before putting a silk scarf on. I tie it in the back and just let the remainder of the scarf hang. If your scarf is slipping, just use bobby pins or hair clips to secure it in place! Easy, cute, and super stylish 🤗
I love experimenting with my hair and finding new ways to elevate my look! If you guys have any recommendations on styles I should try please let me know in the comments!
