Why I'm homeschooling

Reasons why I'm choosing to homeschool

Disclaimer: I am not judging parents who send

their kids to public school. I have no problem with them making that choice for their family and I actually believe that public school is much better for some families and homeschool is better for other families.

So my son isn't stuck at a desk all day.

Because kids don't need 8 hours, they need

Preschool: 30 min

Kindergarden: 1 hr

1st and 2nd: 1.5 hrs

3rd and 4th: 3 hrs

5th and 6th: 3.5 hrs

7th and 8th: 4.5 hrs

Highschool: 6 hrs

At MOST

So I can have more time I get to spend with my son.

So we can experiment with different learning and teaching styles and find what works best for my son.

So my son won't have to experience timeouts or missing recess

So there is no chance of my son ending up with a teacher who is on their phone and yelling at the kids all day (I've unfortunately worked with a few like that)

Because I don't want my son to be using a computer until at least 3rd grade

Because schools don't often do anything (or at least anything useful) about bullying.

Because Classrooms are already overcrowded because of the teacher shortage

So we can travel without missing stuff

Because I'm scared of school sh**t*ngs

So I can teach him morals (in a leftist "I want him to learn empathy instead of bigotry" way. I don't actually think this schools are teaching bigotry, but the other students are)

This last one is very specific to me. I am disabled and can't work anyways, so why would I send my kid to school when I'm already home.
