5 more things to do with toddlers every day
5 more things you (or another adult) should do with your toddler/preschooler every day (or at least most days.
from a former daycare teacher, former elementary teaching assistant, and current stay at home mom
with the "why" on the third slide
The 5 things
•Proprioceptive and vestibular activities
•Singing (and other musical activities)
•Just having casual conversations with them (that aren't about learning)
•Teaching them important things about themselves (like their name, age, parents names, and address)
•Give them independent play time
The why
•Proprioceptive and vestibular activities help develope coordination, balance, body awareness and can even prevent severe motion sickness
•Singing helps develop memory, language and vocabulary development, and helps with social emotional skills. Plus it's a great way to teach
•Just casual conversations that are not about learning are great for building a strong positive, lasting relationship between parent and child
•It's important for them to know important information about themselves in case they get lost
•Independent play helps build creativity, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence (Plus, it teaches them to be okay while you need to go do a few chores)
