Teaching kids about sustainability

Ways to teach kids about sustainability/environmental consciousness:

(while some might seem obvious, I believe it's still worth saying them)

•Teach them to recycle, reuse, repurpose, etc.. and how those processes work

•Start a small garden (even just a window garden with one or two herbs works)

•Do nature art projects and read nature stories (especially myths from many cultures)

•Take them thrifting and teach them to upcycle and mend clothes (this means teach them sewing so they can fix rips and make new things out of old clothes)

•Have/read many fun books about nature, environmental friendliness, gardening, etc...

•Lead by example. Slowly transition into a more sustainable lifestyle. (tips coming soon!)

•Spend time in nature!
