Kids YouTube channels (Low Stimulation)

Kids YouTube channels you can watch with or instead of Ms. Rachel!

(they are all lower stimulation)

1) Learning with Ms. Raven

2) GardenMarcuskids

3) Learning with Lunette

I love Ms. Rachel, especially with all of the activism that she is doing right now, but I also recognize that it can be good for your kids to have variety and diversity in what they watch.

I like that all of these channels have shorter and lower stimulating videos so I don't have to stop a video partway through so he's not getting too much TV time.

Ms. Raven:

•Ms. Raven is very similar to Ms. Rachel, but much less stimulating.

She talks about the power of representation.

All of her videos are special needs friendly!

•I actually love that she isn't over expressive like many other children's content. It shows that some people are less expressive and that that is normal and ok

•My son thinks it's cool that she's an ambulatory wheelchair user and she has AFOs, just like me!

•She has both long and short videos

Garden Marcus kids

•Mr. Marcus does nature learning videos and also teaches basic toddler learning (using nature)

His teaching includes music, gardening, movement, social emotional learning, and he even takes us on nature walks.

•My son often asks to "explore" with Mr. Marcus ❤️

•His videos are pretty short, which is good for small children

Learning with Lunette

•Another similar to Ms Rachel Show, but her videos are short form and she is low stimulation.

•Her videos are pretty short, which is good for small children

•She is so fun and I love how she wears a tiara and fairy wings

... Read moreAs a parent juggling homeschooling and screen time, I've found that choosing the right YouTube content can make a huge difference in my child's engagement and learning. The channels highlighted here truly stand out because they prioritize lower stimulation, which is crucial for young kids who might get overwhelmed by fast-paced videos. Ms. Raven's channel resonates deeply, especially because it showcases representation in a respectful and calm manner. I appreciate how her ambulatory wheelchair use and AFOs are naturally integrated into her videos, normalizing diverse abilities and making kids with special needs feel seen and included. Having videos that aren’t overly expressive also helps my child learn that people express emotions differently, which is a valuable social lesson. GardenMarcusKids brings a refreshing approach by connecting learning with nature. My child loves the short nature walks, music, and gardening segments. These not only entertain but also encourage curiosity and emotional development through socially engaging concepts. Learning with Lunette adds a touch of magic with her tiara and fairy wings, while still keeping content brief and gentle in pace. This balance keeps my child interested without overstimulating. In my experience, these channels provide a great alternative or supplement to Ms. Rachel’s content, enabling variety in learning and aiding in managing screen time effectively. It’s also comforting to know that these channels are mindful of children’s sensory needs and developmental pace, making screen time a positive and nurturing experience for the whole family.
