burnt out

Not physically sick, but sometimes you just need a day to go to the movies, catch a matinee....or if the weather is nice, take a nice scenic hike. Perhaps on a Monday or Friday?

My anxiety is so high that I can’t face making the call to this manager to say that basically I’m going off because I can’t cope with their behaviour and chaos anymore. So I keep getting up and going in. Has anyone experienced this or can you advise what I can say when calling off? I know it sounds lame and I should be capable but my brain can’t figure it out anymore.

It's essential to recognize the signs of burnout, which can manifest as emotional fatigue, increased irritability, and a sense of detachment from work. When considering whether it's acceptable to call in sick due to burnout, it's crucial to prioritize your mental well-being. Taking a day off can allow you to recharge, pursue activities that bring joy, and reassess your work-life balance.
