Salt dough ornaments are a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays and enhance your home decor. To create your ornaments, start by combining 4 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 cup of table salt in a mixing bowl. Gradually add 1 1/2 cups of warm water, stirring until a doughy consistency forms. Remember, the dough should not be too sticky. Roll out your dough on a floured surface to a thickness of no less than 1/4 inch as this will ensure they keep their shape while baking. Cut out various shapes using cookie cutters and place them on parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Using a straw, create a hole at the top of each ornament to thread the ribbon later. Bake your ornaments in a preheated oven at 300°F for approximately one hour or until they are hard. Once they have cooled down, it's time to decorate! Use paint, glitter, or markers to give each ornament a personal touch. Not only are these ornaments great for decorating your home, but they also make thoughtful gifts for family and friends. You can create a delightful assortment that can be hung on your Christmas tree or used as decorative features around your home.
