We never expected a new family member so soon — but after hearing his story, we knew he belonged with us. The fear of deportation has carved deep wounds in our community; we’ve watched people wait decades, face sudden removals, and suffer in detention. Still, these neighbors are the hands and hearts that care for us every day — our nurses, cooks, babysitters, mail carriers — and we see the good they bring.

We don’t know exactly how his family was taken, but we see the loneliness it left behind. I hope they see this and know he’s safe and loved.

After he came into our home, I knew exactly why he was here. Not only does he balance the other dogs in our family so well, but he reminds me to appreciate what I have.

I expected to have a well bred puppy next but life has a way of giving you what you need.

And as to his name:

🐾We created a voice that carried and rippled with a special boy named “Echo.”

🐾gained strength and resilience; climbing what felt like the tallest mountain of illness and trauma with a boy named “Everest.”

🐾And now that we are at the top of this mountain, we can take a deep breath, transition into a new cycle of life, unity, and balance while watching the most amazing boy “Eclipse.”

Welcome to our forever home, Eclipse. We already love you so, so much. 🌑
