WALK🖤
You let me down.
I allowed you to pick me up
Not knowing I used you as a “pick me up”.
To leave me stuck Here.
In the same place.
The same space I occupy surrounded by my fears and coddled by many years of filling. Filling the voids.
But you let me down.
You didn’t push hard enough to help me relinquish the stuff that causes me to need a crowd.
And even now I still cry aloud
HEY! CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME!?
SEE ME?
HEAL ME?
I guess no.
You see, you let me down
I allowed you to pick me up.
A physical substitute for the lack of love that I love to use people for in all these open spaces. Just multiple faces..all playing a part.
But I see no matter how much I pack them all in not one can renew my heart.
You can put me down now.
I’d rather walk.

I truly believe subconsciously at times, not really intentionally, we can put people in a position to “pick us up” and when they put us down we can get upset or feel hurt or maybe even betrayed. But the truth is they never should have been in the position to uphold us anyways.
Now I say us because I have been here before so I know what it feels like from each receiving and definitely dispersing end. Maybe you have leaned in to someone so strongly you formed an attachment or possibly you were the one that someone attached to.
Release Them. It’ll free you.
No one should ever be in your life as a “Void Filler”. Yuck! That honestly doesn’t even sound cute or inviting.
But it happens. The older I get I believe that relationships aren’t really real unless both parties are being served in some way. An asset not a liability. An addition not a subtraction. Multiplication if you would.
I think about the word of God and I notice the life and journey that Jesus went on. Everyone that came into contact with Him was taught through parables or metaphorical words.
In just about every instance, there is a level of independence that takes place. When Lazarus was dead, no matter the haste of Martha and Mary, Jesus arrived in His timing and even after He was “late” let Martha tell it (lol He was on time though yall👏🏿)..Jesus spoke to Lazarus dead body and told him to TAKE UP HIS BED AND WALK! Like ummm Jesus He is not breathing. But Lazarus ROSE from the dead. Now did Jesus go and move his body and twist and turn Him etc. to make him walk or get up? No. He ordered himself to get up.
The closer you get to God and work on inner and spiritual healing.. there is an independence that has to take place.
The word lets us know countless times that we are to worship only God and put no man before Him. Those areas that you may be struggling in that are hand in hand with a broken place in your life can not and will not be filled through people. Can people help or aid in that filling? ABSOLUTELY! But are THEY the actual filling?
God forbid.
Give grace to all humans, your friends, your family, that coworker, that ex-boyfriend or girlfriend..whomever.
God never intended for you to put them in the position to hold you up. He wants you to see that just as him being made in His likeness, that you just have to speak it, believe it and put it in to motion.
So..
Take up YOUR bed and walk.
📖Psalm 146:3 in the Message Version of the Bible says, "Don't put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life".
Whew 😮💨 Okay I’m done!

The journey of healing often involves recognizing when we rely too heavily on others to fill emotional gaps in our lives. Such dependencies can lead to feelings of betrayal and disappointment when those we lean on can no longer support us. This need for external validation can stifle personal growth, leaving us in the same stagnant space surrounded by unresolved fears. Independence in our healing process encourages us to look inward rather than outward. The teachings of spiritual leaders often emphasize self-empowerment and the importance of relying on one's inner strength. For instance, biblical stories illustrate that even in despair, individuals are encouraged to 'take up their bed and walk', symbolizing the importance of taking responsibility for our personal healing. Incorporating these principles into our lives can lead to healthier relationships, characterized by mutual support rather than dependency. Moreover, fostering genuine connections that nourish both parties can be vital. It’s essential to ensure that relationships are built on the foundation of growth and not as temporary fixes for our emotional struggles. Acknowledging our own capacity to heal, alongside seeking support when needed, creates a balance that can lead to more fulfilling and secure connections. Ultimately, moving forward and taking charge of our healing journeys not only strengthens our personal resolve but also paves the way for healthier interactions with others.
