Thrifting art
I’m looking for art to go into my office and have been visiting thrift stores to find some. I was hoping to find some items that are reasonably priced. Buuuuut art at the thrift stores is pricey these days! I’ll have to take my time and find prices that I really enjoy ☺️ does anyone else like to thrift or repurpose things?

I totally get it! I've been on the same quest, trying to find amazing art for my office without breaking the bank. It seems like the secret's out about thrifting, and prices aren't always the bargain they used to be, right? But don't give up hope just yet! There's still so much joy and genuine value in the hunt for pre-loved treasures. What I love most about thrifted art is that each piece has a story. It's not mass-produced, and it adds so much character to a space that new decor simply can't replicate. When I'm truly 'iso art for my office,' I'm not just looking for a picture; I'm looking for a conversation starter, something that reflects my personality and adds warmth to my workspace. It's also a fantastic way to practice sustainability. Giving a pre-loved piece a new home feels good for the planet and my wallet, even if the initial price tag is a bit higher than expected. So, how do we navigate the rising prices and still score incredible finds? Here are a few tips I've picked up: Expand Your Hunting Grounds: Don't just stick to one type of thrift store. Explore estate sales, flea markets, local charity shops, and even online marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace or specific vintage art groups. Sometimes, the less obvious spots hold the best treasures, as they might not be as picked over. I've found incredible pieces simply by venturing out of my usual haunts and being open to different environments. Look Beyond the Obvious: Sometimes the 'expensive' art is just a dated frame. Look at the art itself! Is the frame solid wood? Could it be painted? Could the print or painting be beautiful in a new frame? Or even hung without one? Don't be afraid to envision a piece's potential. I once bought a bland landscape just for its ornate frame and replaced the art with my own print! Quality Check Matters: Even when things seem pricey, take a moment to assess the quality. Is it a solid canvas? A well-made print? Original artwork? If it's something you genuinely love and it's well-made, it might be worth a slightly higher price point for its longevity and unique appeal. Think of it as an investment in your personal style, something that will bring you joy for years rather than just a fleeting trend. Repurposing Power is Real: Don't love the art but love the frame or the canvas size? Get creative! You can paint over canvases to create your own abstract art, decoupage new images onto old prints, or give frames a fresh coat of paint. It's all about seeing the potential and making it your own. I've transformed so many 'meh' finds into 'wow' pieces with a little DIY magic and a creative vision. Share your finds! What's the best piece of art you've ever thrifted?
