I used to be super close with my friend — we’d do everything together. Coffee runs, Target trips, late-night hangs. But ever since she got a boyfriend, she literally never comes alone.

No matter what we plan, he’s there. And honestly… it kills the vibe. He barely talks, just scrolls on his phone or makes comments that make things awkward.

I finally told her, “I miss just hanging out with you. I don’t want to hang out if he’s always coming along.” She got defensive, said he’s “part of her now,” and now she barely talks to me. Some mutuals think I was rude, but I feel like I lost my friend to this guy.

Was I wrong for saying it? Or do you think it was fair to set that boundary?

To me, you were not wrong for speaking up about what’s bothering you. Your friend being defensive is weird and maybe should’ve talked a bit more about it and carve out time for you and her.

If he was an actual social guy I’d understand you feeling like you were wrong but yeah if he’s just being an iPad kid then nah he gotta go he being a vibe vampire fr If she can’t see how he’s acting is wrong then she will end up losing more friends and maybe just maybe see her wrong doing and come back and apologize since you were the one to respectfully talk to her about it
