3 Psychology Hacks to “Fake”Confidence until it's
real. 🕶️
Psychology Series: Part 5 🧠 (You asked, I delivered!)
Confession: I am not naturally confident. I am actually an introvert with anxiety. ☁️ But nobody knows that. Why? Because I know how to hack my behavior.
Confidence is not a feeling; it’s a skill. You don't wait for it; you build it. Here is how I trick my brain into "God Mode":
1️⃣ The "Alter Ego" Method (Sasha Fierce) Beyoncé created "Sasha Fierce" to handle stage fright. I do the same.
The Hack: Create a version of yourself who is fearless. Give her a name.
Action: When I walk into a scary room, I’m not Emily. I am Her. It separates "Me" from the "Fear".
2️⃣ Bio-Hacking (The Power Pose) Your mind listens to your body. If you shrink, you feel small.
The Hack: Before any big event, I go to the bathroom and stand like Wonder Woman for 2 minutes. Hands on hips. Chest open.
Result: It lowers cortisol (stress) and boosts testosterone (power). Science confirms this. 🧬
3️⃣ Kill the "Spotlight Effect" We think everyone is staring at our flaws.
Truth: People are too busy worrying about themselves to notice you.
The Shift: Once you realize nobody cares, you are free to do anything.
The Takeaway: You don't need to feel brave to act brave. Fake it. Fake it again. One day, you will forget you are faking.
Follow for Part 6! I'm sharing the "Dark Psychology of Attraction" next. 🥀

Many people struggle with self-confidence, especially those who identify as introverts or experience anxiety. The good news is that confidence is not an innate trait but a skill that can be developed through intentional practices. The three psychology hacks mentioned—the Alter Ego method, power posing, and defeating the spotlight effect—are supported by scientific research and widely used techniques to help individuals perform at their best in stressful situations. The Alter Ego method, inspired by Beyoncé's creation of "Sasha Fierce," involves mentally stepping into a fearless version of yourself. By giving this alter ego a distinct identity, you separate your authentic self from fear and self-doubt. This mental distancing allows one to act more boldly because the persona you adopt is empowered and confident, creating a psychological safety net to try new behaviors. Power posing, based on Amy Cuddy’s research, illustrates how body language directly influences hormone levels. Standing in a "Wonder Woman" stance for two minutes before a challenging event can increase testosterone, which is linked to feelings of power and dominance, while reducing cortisol, the hormone associated with stress. These hormonal adjustments translate to increased feelings of confidence and calm. Finally, the spotlight effect describes the tendency to believe everyone is intensely focused on our mistakes and flaws. In reality, most people are preoccupied with their own concerns and do not scrutinize others as closely as we imagine. Recognizing this frees you from excessive self-consciousness, allowing you to act more freely without the paralyzing fear of judgment. Combining these three hacks can significantly improve performance in social or high-pressure scenarios. Instead of waiting to "feel" confident, adopting these strategies empowers you to "fake it until you make it." Over time, what started as a performance transforms into authentic confidence. It's important to practice regularly and integrate these techniques as part of a broader mindset shift toward growth. Remember, confidence is less about perfection and more about willingness to show up as your best self despite imperfections. By incorporating these simple yet effective psychology tricks into daily routines, anyone can unlock greater personal power and resilience. Many find that acting confidently also changes how others perceive and respond to them, creating a positive feedback loop that further reinforces their inner strength.

My take from this is fake it til you make it. Even on days when your confidence is low mask one until you can G it out naturally
