Trying to decide where to eat when you first board your Disney cruise?
🍽️ The buffet can be busy.
🍽️ The sit-down restaurants can take a little longer.
🍽️ Festival of Foods is a great grab-and-go option when you’re ready to start exploring the ship.
It’s one of my favorite embarkation day food spots on the Wish-class ships!

When I first boarded the Disney Wish cruise, I quickly learned that choosing where to eat on embarkation day can set the tone for your entire vacation. The buffet, while offering a wide range of options, tends to be hectic right after boarding with many guests eager to grab a meal. On the other hand, sit-down restaurants provide a more relaxed atmosphere but usually require a bit more time, which might not be ideal as you begin your adventures on the ship. Festival of Foods stands out as an excellent compromise. It’s a convenient grab-and-go spot located in an accessible area that allows you to quickly pick up a fresh and satisfying meal. This option lets you avoid the crowds and still enjoy a good variety of foods without the wait. From snacks to light meals, Festival of Foods has something to keep you energized while you explore the ship’s exciting features. Personally, opting for Festival of Foods on embarkation day made my experience more enjoyable and stress-free. It gave me a chance to savor delicious food without feeling rushed or missing out on the ship’s initial activities. For families and solo travelers alike, this spot offers flexibility and efficiency. Additionally, keep in mind that dining preferences can also depend on your sailing schedule and personal tastes. Some guests prefer making reservations for sit-down dinners in advance to have a guaranteed spot and a more leisurely meal during the cruise. But for that first day, especially shortly after boarding the Disney Wish or Disney Treasure, Festival of Foods is a practical and enjoyable choice that I highly recommend.
