An app you ✨NEED✨if you read the Bible!
The Blue Letter Bible app is the bees knees, yall. I’m reading through the Gospels right now (great place to start if you’re new to Bible reading!) and it’s been a super helpful resource to explain anything that doesn’t make sense to me.
I really love that it provides commentaries that go verse by verse! You can see examples of them in the last photos 🤗
If you’re a more advanced reader, you’ll appreciate the original Greek/Hebrew/Aramaic translations! The app gives you the definitions of each word so that you can study scripture in a deeper way.

Hey fellow Bible readers! After sharing how much I love the Blue Letter Bible app, I wanted to dive even deeper into why it's become my go-to tool for truly understanding scripture. It’s not just an app; it’s like having a mini seminary in your pocket, and I genuinely believe it can transform your study time, whether you're just starting out or have been studying for years. One of the features I find myself using constantly is the incredible array of Text Commentaries. Seriously, if a verse or passage ever has me scratching my head, I just tap on it, and boom – a list of trusted commentaries appears. I particularly love digging into the David Guzik Study Guide for Matthew 5 (as shown in some of my screenshots!), which offers such clear, insightful explanations. But it's not just Guzik; you’ll find everything from detailed Charts and Outlines to help with structure, to the Harmony of the Gospels, which is brilliant for seeing how different accounts of Jesus’ life fit together. These aren't just for scholars; they break down complex ideas into digestible insights that make the Bible come alive. Then there’s the game-changing Interlinear/Concordance feature. For a long time, I wished I could understand the original Greek and Hebrew, but learning a new language felt daunting. The Blue Letter Bible app makes it accessible! You can tap on almost any English word in the scripture, and it will show you the original Greek or Hebrew word, its Strong's number, and a concise definition. This has been revolutionary for me. Knowing the precise nuance of a word in its original context often clarifies an entire verse or even a chapter. It’s like peeling back layers to get to the core meaning, and it truly enriches my personal Bible study. Another feature I can't recommend enough is the Bible Comparison tool. Sometimes, different translations can offer slightly different perspectives, and seeing them side-by-side (like the two translations shown in my Matthew 5 example!) helps me get a more holistic understanding. It’s not about finding the 'best' translation, but about appreciating the richness of God's Word through various interpretations. And for those of us who like to make our Bibles our own, the app offers fantastic annotations and highlighting tools. I love being able to quickly highlight key verses that speak to me or jot down personal reflections right there in the app. It keeps all my study notes organized and easily accessible, which is a lifesaver when I'm reviewing past studies or preparing for a group discussion. My tip for new users? Don't be overwhelmed by all the features. Start where you are! The app is incredibly helpful even if you're just reading through the Gospels for the first time, as I did. But as you get more comfortable, gradually explore the commentaries, then the interlinear, and you'll find your understanding of scripture growing exponentially. It’s seriously the best bible app I’ve found for truly deep and practical study. Give it a try – you won't regret it!
