What I’ve been working on
Since I haven’t posted my embroidery in awhile: here’s what I have been working on! This is a pair of hand knit wool socks that I’ve been making for myself! Obviously I still have quite a ways to go, but I’m excited for the finished project!
What have you been working on this week??
Working on hand knit wool socks can be a wonderfully satisfying experience, especially when you are dedicated to creating something both beautiful and functional. Wool is an excellent material for socks because it offers warmth, breathability, and durability. If you’re new to knitting socks, one great tip is to start with simple patterns and gradually work your way up to more complex designs, such as cables or colorwork. Since the OCR mentions “Although still aways to go” and “Socks!”, it’s clear this project is a work in progress, which is common in knitting crafts. Patience is key during the process, as knitting socks requires attention to detail in areas like shaping the heel and toe to ensure the perfect fit. Also, using high-quality wool yarn can enhance the comfort and longevity of your finished socks. If you’re interested in expanding your knitting skills, online communities and hashtags like #knittingideas and #knitwear are fantastic resources for inspiration and support. Sharing your progress and challenges with others can motivate you and help you find solutions if you get stuck. In addition to knitting, incorporating embroidery or other handmade elements can personalize your socks and make them a unique piece of wearable art. Whatever your crafting style, taking time to create by hand brings a rewarding sense of accomplishment and creativity. What are you currently working on? Whether it’s knitting, embroidery, or any form of crafting, sharing your journey can encourage others and build a vibrant community of makers.

Hand-knitted socks are such a flex. I can barely sew on a button. Props to you!
