Gym Goal ✅ (for this week)

I met my gym goal this week!!! 🙌🏼

I wanted to go to the gym at least twice and I did!

I used to run in highschool but stopped because of an injury. I've been in physical therapy for a few months now. So this week I tried to run again! it was only for a few minutes each time but it's something!

I'm thinking about doing a 5k at the end of the summer as a way to keep me motivated ☺️

I just walked/ran the treadmill. I started walking at 2.5mph and ended running at 4.2mph.

any tips on getting back into running?

Many people aim to rebuild their stamina by starting slow; walking on the treadmill or alternating walking and running is a great way to ease into it. Incorporate interval training into your workouts by varying your speed, which helps enhance cardiovascular fitness and burn more calories. It’s also crucial to prioritize recovery and listen to your body. Engaging in mobility and stretching exercises can prevent injury and help improve your range of motion. Since outdoor running can be motivating, also consider signing up for local 5K events to enhance your commitment. Surrounding yourself with peers who share similar fitness goals can also provide accountability and inspiration. Finally, nutrition plays a big role in recovery and performance; maintaining a balanced diet rich in carbs, proteins, and healthy fats will fuel your workouts efficiently.
