Work Recap!!
People were the absolute sweetest today and I felt so good when I left work today instead of drained like normal!!🥰
We all have those days at work where you just feel... drained. It's easy to focus on the challenges, the deadlines, or the endless tasks. But what if we took a moment to truly reflect on the positive, unexpected things that can make our day? That's what I've been trying to do, and let me tell you, it makes a huge difference! I used to think daily reflections were just for journaling, but I’ve found that even a quick mental recap can shift my perspective. It's about actively looking for the 'wins,' no matter how small. For instance, in my line of work, navigating complex requests at the pharmacy can be tough, but when a patient genuinely thanks me for my helpfulness and knowledge, it's such a rewarding feeling. It's those moments that remind me why I do what I do. And it’s not just about the big gestures. Sometimes, it’s the little things that truly brighten your day. Like when I got my nails done, I wasn't expecting multiple people to compliment them throughout the day! Or when I decided to straighten my hair, and a girl at work immediately noticed and said she loved my new haircut. These seemingly minor interactions can have a huge impact on your mood and confidence. So, how can you start incorporating more positive daily reflections into your routine? Here are a few tips I've picked up: Keep a Mental 'Good Things' List: As your day goes on, try to mentally note any positive interactions, accomplishments, or unexpected pleasantries. Did someone bring in treats? Did you solve a tricky problem? Did a customer appreciate your effort? Acknowledge Compliments: Don't just brush them off! When someone compliments your nails, your helpfulness, or even just your outfit, take a moment to genuinely accept it. It's a gift of kindness. Pay It Forward: Often, when you offer a compliment or help someone out, that positive energy comes back to you. Be the person who brightens someone else’s day. End Your Day with a Positive Scan: Before you leave work, or even on your commute home, take 30 seconds to mentally review your day for those 'unexpected things that made your day.' It helps you end on a high note instead of dwelling on stress. By actively seeking out and appreciating these small, unexpected moments, you can transform your entire outlook on work. It’s not about ignoring challenges, but about building up a reserve of positive experiences that can help you feel less drained and more fulfilled.
