Real Talk: I wish I gave up vegetarianism sooner
In 2015 I dabbled in raw veganism and though I felt like supewoman. As you can imagine, that wasn't sustainable, so I settled on being a vegetarian. Something I did purely for what I thought were the percieved health benefits as I felt "better eating clean".
I was a vegetarian for 8 years until fall 2023 when out of the blue I developed a serious coconut allergy and I could no longer eat fake meat products or use protein powder which all have coconut products.
Since becoming a meat eater again I can't believe how much better I feel. I have more energy because I'm able to eat more protein. Eating is way less complicated. Eating out is way more fun. And my butt is growing because im getting way more protein!

Many people are curious about vegetarianism and its health implications. While it has benefits like increased fiber intake and lower cholesterol, it can also present challenges, especially for those with dietary restrictions, like allergies. Switching from a vegetarian to a meat-based diet can lead to increased protein intake, which is pivotal for muscle growth and overall energy levels. This newfound energy can make daily activities easier and more enjoyable. For some, the transition from vegetarianism allows a varied diet that can simplify meal prep, making it easier to dine out and try new cuisines. Understanding individual nutritional needs is key. Some might find certain diets restrict their lifestyle or lead to complications, such as allergies to common substitutes like coconut in many vegan and vegetarian products. Embracing flexibility in one's diet can encourage a healthier relationship with food, where enjoyment and nutritional benefits combine.
