After 10 months without Welo, the pain of missing him is still deeply felt, yet each day brings new ways of coping and honoring his memory. In my experience, holding onto memories and sharing stories about him helps keep his spirit alive. Some days are harder than others, especially when triggered by places, songs, or anniversaries. But I've found that allowing myself to grieve openly rather than bottling emotions inside aids emotional healing. Engaging with community support, like joining groups where others have also experienced loss, provides a meaningful outlet to express feelings and learn from shared experiences. It’s vital to remember that grief is not linear—it ebbs and flows, and that’s perfectly normal. Adding personal rituals to your routine, like lighting a candle or listening to favorite music associated with your loved one, can bring comfort and moments of peace. Technology has also helped me stay connected in some way; revisiting photos and videos of Welo triggers warmth and nostalgia. I’ve come to understand that missing someone doesn’t mean forgetting them. Instead, it’s about adapting to their absence while cherishing the impact they had on your life. This journey through loss is deeply personal, but knowing others understand and support you makes it more bearable.
