... Read moreAs a stay-at-home mom to three little boys, I truly understand the joy that comes from embracing everyday normalcy instead of chasing the latest trends or flashy lifestyle upgrades. For instance, I once accidentally threw away a knife from our block 1.5 years ago and never replaced it—that kind of imperfection is part of my real life. I also prioritize DIY self-care routines, such as doing my own lash lifts and tinting brows at home, avoiding expensive salon visits. Recently, I started self-tanning to combat those winter blues and 'winter uglies' since this is my first winter not postpartum or breastfeeding. It's all about feeling comfortable in your skin without pressure to look perfect. When it comes to makeup, less is more for me. I barely own makeup, let alone know how to do elaborate looks. Mascara is out, brow gel and pencils are my recent additions, showing how even small steps towards self-care count. My wardrobe is vastly practical—mostly pajamas, joggers, sweatshirts, or workout clothes, because comfort is invaluable as a busy mom. Parenting comes with its own realities too; my 5-year-old enjoys his iPad during nap time when my husband is home, just so I can have some quiet moments to recharge. These little adaptations help maintain my sanity and balance. I once participated in MLM but won’t ever go back—sharing this helps remind us all that it’s okay to learn from past experiences and move forward. What’s really special is realizing we're not alone in these candid, sometimes messy moments. Whether it’s the mundane, the imperfect, or the untrendy, finding joy here transforms our days and minds. If you’re a stay-at-home mom or navigating any mundane season, embracing these simple truths can bring unexpected peace and fulfillment. Reflecting on what truly matters—to be present for your family without pressure to uphold unrealistic expectations—can really change your life.
