Somethin bout raising little boys 🥹🤍🧸

Let’s be real raising little boys in today’s world is messy, loud, overstimulating & exhausting 🤪

Here are some things I’m doing differently to survive (& maybe thrive?!)

Motherhood isn’t perfect & it never will be… but wild, confident little humans? I think I can handle seeing that grow up 🥲🫶🏼

Moms, what would you add??

As a fellow mom navigating this energetic journey, I've found that embracing the natural wildness of boys rather than trying to suppress it can be a game changer. Letting my boys get dirty—whether it's mud, sand, or snow—has not only allowed them to explore their environment freely but also strengthened their immune systems and sense of wonder. It's messy, yes, but the memories and skills they build are priceless. Encouraging rough play like wrestling on the couch or throwing soft toys has been another survival trick. It’s definitely loud and sometimes a little scary, but allowing this physical outlet builds their confidence and resilience. I also focus heavily on teaching them that all emotions are valid; boys can cry and be dramatic without judgment. This emotional freedom is crucial for their mental health and has helped me become more empathetic and patient myself. Independence is another priority—even if it means accepting spills or messes when they pour their own snacks or tackle tasks solo. The lessons they learn from these small risks are vital for their growth. Speaking of risks, allowing them to climb, jump, and run while giving gentle reminders like "be careful" gives them the chance to learn from experience, which boosts their bravery and problem-solving skills. One important realization is admitting that as a mom, I don’t have all the answers. My boys' endless questions have taught me to be resourceful and sometimes creatively imaginative in my responses. At the end of each busy day, seeing their wild spirit, courage, and excitement reminds me that surviving motherhood means embracing imperfection and celebrating every small victory. If you're a #boymom, sharing your own survival tips could be incredibly helpful—we all benefit from new ideas to handle the joyful chaos of raising these spirited young humans.
