Mmm guilty as charged 🫡
I was a homebody before kids.
Then Covid happened + we had a baby.
Then I quit my full time job to be a stay at home mom — and now we’re coming up on 5 years officially as a full time SAHM.
Needless to say my introverted homebody-ness is still in full force 😂
Where are my people who relate? 🤭 lmk so I know I’m not alone hahaha
hehe #throwback
Being an introverted stay-at-home mom (SAHM) comes with its own unique set of challenges and rewards. Like many, I found myself becoming more comfortable staying at home as the years passed, especially with the added challenges brought by the Covid pandemic. It’s easy to slip into a routine where leaving the house feels like an event rather than a norm. One thing I’ve learned on my SAHM journey is the importance of nurturing social connections in ways that suit an introverted personality. For me, meaningful conversations with close friends or joining online communities where other moms share honest motherhood stories have been invaluable. These connections provide support without the overwhelm of large social settings. Also, embracing hobbies or interests that can be enjoyed at home, such as reading, crafting, or gardening, has helped me maintain a sense of individuality amid parenting duties. It’s essential to carve out “me time” to recharge, which ultimately benefits your family too. Parents, especially introverts, often face the feeling of isolation, but with today’s digital tools, connecting doesn’t always mean going out. Virtual playdates, moms’ groups, or even humorous exchanges about the quirks of SAHM life can lighten the load and remind us we’re not alone. If you’re an introverted mom adjusting to life at home, know it’s okay to honor your comfort zone while finding ways to stay engaged and supported. This blend of self-care and community helps transform the stay-at-home experience into a fulfilling chapter, rather than a confining one.
