Actuallyyyy 🤔😅🫣

Actually, there is no way to completely tire these children out — no matter how long we spend outside or how many consecutive days we spend it out there

Bc at the end of the day, these boys of mine are solar powered and are not bothered

Me on the other hand? Love the sunshine, thankful to be outside, but need some deep sleep + caffeine for recovery every night 😂

Anyone else have solar powered children??

... Read moreAs a parent, I totally resonate with the idea that some children are like little solar panels, absorbing energy from the sun and using it endlessly. I've often noticed that no matter how much time my kids spend outdoors or how physically active they are, they seem to have boundless energy that doesn’t wear off easily. This is especially true on sunny days when the fresh air and natural light appear to recharge them completely. From my experience, this 'solar powered' energy means that traditional methods of tiring out children—like long walks, playground visits, or sports—don’t always guarantee they’ll be ready for bed early or sleep through the night. Instead, they often come home energized and ready for more playtime. It’s both a blessing and a challenge because while you want them to be active and healthy, it can be exhausting for parents trying to keep pace. To manage this, I’ve learned to balance outdoor activity with quieter indoor moments later in the day. Introducing calming routines such as reading books or engaging in creative play helps gently wind them down. Also, maintaining a consistent bedtime schedule becomes crucial, even if the kids don’t seem tired. For parents, especially those like me who aren’t naturally solar powered, caffeine and prioritizing deep sleep are lifesavers! Social support helps, too. Connecting with other parents who call their kids 'solar powered' creates a sense of understanding and shared humor in the ups and downs of motherhood. This phrase perfectly captures those moments of high energy that never seem to end. If you’re navigating the challenge of keeping up with your energetic little ones, remember you’re not alone—sometimes, it’s about celebrating their vigor while finding strategies to recharge ourselves.
