This sounds so backwards but one of the best solutions for my anxiety was actually having more kids… boys to be exact 🤣

It wasn’t what the dr wanted to prescribe me (& hey, no judgement if you need it. Also been there. It’s real 💯) but the number one thing that helped was definitely having more kids lolol

It’s seems so backwards (bc it is haha) but the more kids we had, the more I HAD to let go of that constant desire to control everything & just started well… being. Just started chilling a bit more & not freaking out over the tiniest things. I’ve gotten messages that said “it’s wild watching what your youngest can do compared to my one & only kiddo the same age”… but trust me when I say this: my third is doing things at a year old that my first was never allowed to do 🤣🙌🏼

Funny how things shake out sometimes isn’t it!!

Now, what about you?! Did it get worse or better with more kids?! Enlighten me please 🤣

And as always, don’t forget to SHARE if you relate!!

... Read moreAs a mom who’s juggled anxiety and parenting, I can deeply relate to the idea that more kids—especially boys—can push you to surrender control and grow in unexpected ways. When my family grew, so did the mess and unpredictability, and honestly, it forced me to rethink my grip on daily life. The constant little emergencies and lively energy don’t leave room for endless worry. Instead, you learn to trust the process and enjoy the imperfect, chaotic moments. One thing I noticed is that with each kid, my definition of ‘‘normal’’ shifted. My first child’s milestones were closely monitored, and I tracked every detail, worried about every delay. By the time my third came along, I was less anxious about rigid schedules and more open to letting him explore and develop at his own pace. This freedom not only benefited my kids but also improved my mental health; I stopped battling the constant internal pressure to be perfect and in control. Interestingly, having multiple sons brought a special dynamic that created lots of laughter and spontaneous playfulness, which also helped ease anxiety. Boy energy is relentless but also contagious in a good way — it changed my perspective about what matters day-to-day. Instead of fearing the mess or disruptions, I began to cherish them as signs of healthy, active childhoods. To anyone struggling with anxiety and considering parenting more children, I’d say it’s okay to feel conflicted. More kids can mean more challenges, but they also gently force personal growth, resilience, and a more relaxed mindset. Sometimes life’s wildest solutions—like embracing the chaos of three boys—turn out to be the best therapy. Remember that your experience is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach, but don’t underestimate the power of letting go and just being present with your family.

You’re not stuck. You just forgot you can step back.
We were taught that strength looks like staying. Pushing through. Holding it together. Not leaving. But the nervous system has a different definition. When your body believes it’s trapped… it doesn’t become brave. It becomes braced. And bracing can look like functioning. Showing up.
